CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) recovered a huge amount of foreign currency from Kolkata airport. Along with this, three people have been arrested. The Airport officials got suspicious after seeing the mobile in the hand of a passenger who was boarding a flight to Bangladesh. The officers asked many questions and wanted to see the mobile. When the cover of the mobile was opened, they discovered that foreign currency worth Rs 24 lakh 60 thousand was hidden in the cover of that mobile phone.
CISF jawans seized 65000 US dollars and 19000 Canadian dollars, whose value in Indian currency is 24 lakh 60 thousand rupees. Three Bangladeshi passengers have been detained. The names of the arrested people are Shafikul Islam, Mohammad Naseeruddin, and Firoz Alam.
According to airport sources, the officials were frisking the Kolkata-Dhaka flight at 5.45 am on Tuesday morning. During the checking of baggage, the personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force noticed suspicious items. Passenger Shafiqul Islam was questioned and searched by the officers. It has been learned that US dollars were hidden between his two mobile phones, whose estimated value in India is Rs 24 lakh 60 thousand. The officers got the names of two more passengers from him.
After the investigation, another person named Mohammad Nasir Uddin was arrested. During the search, Canadian dollars were recovered from inside his jacket. In Indian currency, it's worth 11 lakh 68 thousand 500 rupees. Officers of the Central Industrial Security Force after questioning the three passengers handed them over to the officials of the Air Intelligence Wing of the Customs Department. Three Bangladeshi passengers are being questioned by customs officials.
